Many Gujarati families living in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and the Gulf plan dental treatment around a visit home. The key to success is matching the treatment to the length of the stay — and agreeing the plan before you book flights.
What fits in a two-week visit
- Check-up, cleaning and X-rays for the whole family, in a single morning.
- Fillings — several in one visit.
- Single-sitting root canal treatment plus crown: the root canal and crown preparation in week one, the crown fitted in week two. See root canal treatment.
- Crowns and bridges — two visits with laboratory time between.
- Teeth whitening and composite bonding in a visit each.
- Veneers for front teeth, with planning, preparation and fitting spread across the fortnight. See veneers.
- Wisdom tooth removal early in the stay, leaving a week for healing before flying.
- Dentures, with visits compressed into the first ten days.
What fits in three to four weeks
- Everything above, with more breathing room.
- Multiple crowns or a full smile design with a trial of the planned result.
- Implant placement with an immediate provisional tooth in suitable cases, though the final crown comes on a later visit.
- All-on-4 full-arch implants: surgery and provisional fixed teeth within the first week; the final bridge after healing on the next trip. See All-on-4 implants.
What needs two trips
- Standard dental implants. The implant needs about 10 to 14 weeks to bond with the bone before the final crown. Place it on this trip; fit the crown on the next, or arrange the final restoration with a trusted dentist abroad on our records. See dental implants.
- Full mouth rehabilitation involving implants.
- Orthodontic treatment, unless you are staying several months; aligners can sometimes be monitored remotely between visits.
How to plan before you fly
- Send clear photographs, any X-rays and a short description on WhatsApp.
- Receive a written treatment plan with the number and spacing of visits.
- Book the first appointment for the first or second day after arrival — not the last week.
- Keep the final days of the stay free of major procedures so anything can be adjusted before you leave.

Common questions
Is it safe to fly after dental surgery? Generally yes after a few days; we schedule extractions and implant surgery early in the stay to allow healing before travel.
What if something needs adjusting after I go back? Minor adjustments to a crown or denture can be done by a local dentist with our notes; we remain available on WhatsApp for advice.
Can treatment for my parents in Rajkot be arranged while I am abroad? Yes. Many NRIs book and coordinate their parents' treatment with us remotely and receive updates after each visit.
