Why a dental implant?
A missing back tooth does more than leave a gap. Neighbouring teeth can drift, chewing becomes uneven, and the jawbone in that area slowly shrinks. A dental implant replaces the missing root with a titanium post in the jawbone, topped with a natural-looking crown, so it works like a real tooth without touching the healthy teeth next to it.
Planning with a 3D scan
At Lifedent Dental Hospital in Rajkot, the implant was planned with a 3D CBCT scan. This showed exactly how much bone was available and where the implant should go, so the procedure could be planned precisely before it started.
The procedure and healing
The implant was placed under local anaesthesia, and mild soreness for two to three days afterwards was managed with prescribed medicine. A soft diet was advised while the implant bonded with the bone, and the final crown — matched to the natural teeth — was fitted after healing. A single-tooth implant takes about 10 to 14 weeks in total.
